Advance Information for Fall, 2008.

FACE TO FACE MEETING: Only once this semester will we meet in person. The one meeting is set for Tuesday, August 19, at 6:15 PM in Room S187 at Richland. I have chosen this time and place as most convenient for most people. I hope it works for you. I will give you some necessary materials for our class, and go over some questions that most students have. Let me know that you can come that evening.

ADVANCE COURSE INFORMATION

THIS COURSE IS AVAILABLE ON BLACKBOARD/WEB-CT. Passwords and login names will be supplied at orientation.

Things to know before you start:

1. You will need to plan to access the course every day for at least one hour. In the Summer, it needs to be two hours.

2. The exams (there are five plus a final) are accessible for ONLY twenty-four hours on the day specified. You MUST take the exam on the day specified. Missing the exam will be cause for dropping you from the course. Consideration for special circumstances regarding this requirement will be given only IN ADVANCE of the exam date.

Things to do:

1. Buy or rent the text: Ornstein and Levine, An Introduction to the Foundations of Education, 10th edition.

2. Email your instructor that you have registered: dcooprid@richland.edu

3. Plan your Summer schedule. The first week's reading assignments are given below. Scroll down to see calendar.

4. Make sure you are ready for an online course. You can do this by taking this online self-assessment.
