
The purpose of the RCC Honors Opportunites Program is to encourage academically talented, motivated students to pursue knowledge, both in breadth and depth, in order to acheive their maximum potential.
The Program Provides:
Requirements for Admission:
For recent high school graduates:
1. An American College Testing (ACT) composite score of 26 with no score below 22.
2. Agreement to complete all honors commitments before graduation.
For current RCC students:
1. A cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.5. or higher on a 4.0 scale for 12 or more semester hours in courses numbered 100 and above.
2. Agreement to complete all honors commitments before graduation.
Honors Commitments:
1. Four Honors courses. Two of these courses must be actual Honors Sections. Two can be in-course Honors projects. Three of the five general education areas must be represented.
2. Taking an Honors course the first semester in the program and taking one at least every fifteen course hours in the program.
3. Attending the Honors Program Convocation and other special Honors events.
