SPSS: Data Editor
The main working screen from within SPSS is the Data Editor window.
The Data Editor is designed to look like a spreadsheet. There are a few differences.
- Each column represents one variable in your dataset.
- Each row represents one case or observation.
- Cells can only contain values, they cannot contain formulas.
- There are no empty cells in the table. An empty cell will be converted to a system-missing value. A blank in a string cell is considered valid.
