  5. Find a probability using the multiplication rule. Look at problems 5.70 - 5.79*.
  6. Find probabilities of a poker hand. Two parts. This is an extended hypergeometric distribution problem.
  7. Find conditional probabilities from a table. Two parts. Look at problems 5.104 - 5.106*.
  8. Given a distribution, determine if it is a probability distribution. Look at problems 6.6 - 6.11*.
  9. Find the mean, variance, and standard deviation for a probability distribution. Look at problems 6.38 - 6.46*.
  10. Find the expected value of a probability distribution. Look at problems 6.47 - 6.51*.

  16. Identify each pair of events as independent or dependent. Three parts. Look at problem 5.67*.
  17. Identify which are binomial distributions or can be reduced to binomial distributions. Five parts. Look at problem 6.63*.
  18. True-False. Four parts. Look at the Chapter tests at the end of chapters 4, 5, and 6*.
  19. Supply the term being defined. You should know the following terms: (4) Combination, Permutation; (5) Complement of an event, Conditional probability, Dependent events, Event, Independent Events, Mutually exclusive events, Probability, Sample space; (6) Binomial experiment, Expected value, Hypergeometric distribution, Probability distribution, Random variable.
  20. Identify the distribution which should be used. Four parts. Your choices are binomial, multinomial, poisson, and hypergeometric. Look at the introductory paragraph for each distribution.
