  1. Use your calculator to generate a set of 20 random numbers between 50 and 150, inclusive. Save the 20 values into list 1. The following command will do this for you.

    seq(int(101*rand+50),x,1,20,1) -> L1

    The "seq" function can be found under the [List] (2nd [Stats]) key. Choose the "Ops" menu and then option 5. The "->" symbol is the [Sto>] key that is located right above the [On] key.

    This is our original data and will be known as x. x+10 will mean to add 10 to all the original data values, x*10 will mean to multiply each data value by 10, and so on. Since this is random data, everyone will have different answers for this page. Do not expect the same answers as your neighbor.


  2. Record the mean, median, range, sample standard deviation, and sample variance in the table for each data set.

    To find the sample statistics for the original data in L1, enter the command 1-Var Stats L1. To find the sample statistics for any of the four manipulated data sets, enter the appropriate command for the manipulation like: L1+30->L2, L1*4->L2, or L1/4->L2 and then find 1-Var Stats L2. Give all answers to two decimal places.
